With a surface similar to Portugal, and bigger than many countries of Europe, Andalusia is a wildlife sanctuary, the 30% of its territory is under any kind of natural protection figure, what can suggest the incredible variety and value of its natural heritage.

DÍA 1. Arrival to the airport in Málaga and pick up (it doesn´t include flights). 

 

DÍA 2. ALTO GUADIATO.

         In Alto Guadiato converges to perfection the mix between pasture, little hills, crops and old human structures. Here you can find a huge diversity of birds, including an important number of steppe birds like the Great bustard, Little bustard, Montagu´s harrier, Lesser kestrel or Black bellied sandgrouse.

     It is one of the most important wintering place for Commom crane in Spain.

 

DÍA 3. VALLE DE ALCUDIA Y SIERRA MADRONA NATURAL PARK.

     The big plains of Alcudia Valley Natural Park offers to visitors the possibility of see many different species, including some of the most emblematic ones like black vulture, egyptian vulture, spanish imperial eagle or the black-winged kite. The amazing landscape, full of pasture and isolated trees will surprise the viewer. This place is often known as "the spanish serengueti".

 

DÍA 4.  SIERRA DE ANDÚJAR NATURAL PARK.        

      This place is one of the most visited for naturalists from all Europe, a place where you really feel the wildlife at every corner. Lynx, wolves, eagles, vultures, owls, rivers, forests... everything in just a surprising place. This is probably, the place where the mediterranean forest is best conserved.

 

DÍA 5. CAZORLA, SEGURA Y LAS VILLAS NATURAL PARK (Biosphere reserve).

      In this Natural Park and Biosphere Reserve we will find the biggest protected area in Spain and the second one in Europe. A huge range of mountains and cliffs where many species find their home, like the bearded vultures just reintroduced.  

 

DÍA 6. SIERRA DE CASTRIL NATURAL PARK.

       Castril range is a quite unknown place in general, although it's a spectacular place where you have the chance of see many interesting bird species like the bearded vulture flying over the high cliffs and rough valleys. With just a single road crossing the Natural Park, these mountains are very desolated, with a few number of shepherds and their families living during spring and summer the valley is free for the wildlife, to live quiet and with good conditions to breed.

DÍA 7. SIERRA NEVADA NATIONAL PARK (Biosphere reserve) AND NATURAL AREA TABERNAS DESERT.

      With more than 3400 meters (11.150 ft), Sierra Nevada National Park and Biosphere Reserve is the highest point in the Iberian  Peninsula. Its huge plains in the top area  amazing place for see an important amount of species that move there seeking better conditions during the hottest months. In addition to birds, one of the most spectacular views on this point are the big packs of mountain goats running free.

 

DÍA 8. CABO DE GATA NATURAL PARK (Biosphere reserve).       

    Where desert joins the mediterranean sea. For many people, the best beaches in Spain, dozens of kilometers of desert coast ,without human structures, only deserted flora and extremely clearwater. The perfect place to finish our trip.
